The sun set on 2012, and another one rose this morning on the first day of January, 2013.
My friends are just going to bed back home in BC, Canada, and wishing each other a “Happy New Year”, while I’m just getting the kids ready for bed at the end of the first day of 2013. Weird.
Happy new year, to all my friends and family. I pray that this is a great year for you.
The photo above is of the sunset at Jimbaran Beach. We ate freshly caught and cooked fish on that beach on Christmas Day last week.
The Mayans’ calendar ends on December 21, 2012. Theorists, conspirators, paranoids have played around with the idea that there’s “No Exit” for us after this date. There will be no 2013. We’ve got less than a year and then…well…sorry. Apocalypse. Doomsday! The end of all things. Ha!
I can’t take this stuff too seriously.
On a serious note, I wish all of you a Happy New Year! I have spent most of the year, from last January 13 until today, posting a photo every day. You, the viewers and subscribers of this blog, have been incredibly nice to me. I’ve been Freshly Pressed twice and have had more than 40000 page views. It’s been a great year. I feel strongly that 2012 will be just as great, probably greater.
So, thanks, and have a great year.
I was pushed a little by this week’s Photo Friday challenge: Best of 2010. So here’s my best of 2010. It’s not a photo I’ve posted before, so it’s not my best photo of 2010. I think it’s a good one, though, but there were better photos taken on the family camping trip on the Oregon Coast. It is, however, tied to my best memory of 2010. It was the best camping trip my family’s ever taken. Despite the weather, the trip was great. Thanks, 2010, for a great year. Now, get out of here. Go take a rest.
