Spring grasses

Had a little fun processing this in black and white.

I’m three weeks away from leaving the country.  Three weeks less a day, actually.  It seems a little surreal, actually, that I will no longer drive home past this.

There were two inspirations for this:  one, this is what home looks like.  I love where I live and I don’t want to forget it.  Two, we said good-bye to my wife’s family this last weekend and my brother-in-law paid me a great compliment – he said, “I miss your photos.”  That’s it, but I love approval, so…thanks Ryan.  I appreciate the nice words.

Oh, and for those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about when I write “leaving the country”, I’m moving to Jakarta, Indonesia for two years.  My whole family is.  Cool, but it’s getting really close now.

Wow, I’ve not posted in a while.

I’m sick.  Boohoo.  Does someone have a remedy for a head that feels as though it’s stuffed with cotton?

Here’s a farm.  Meh.

I don’t normally post multiple photos in one post, but I felt this was necessary.  After dinner, the family went out for a walk in our local, center-of-the-city park and Ben and Hannah excitedly played on a new playground installation.  While there, we found a local parkour group working out on the playground.  This guy was amazing; he decided to back-flip off the swing set.  I know that responsible parents everywhere will probably think, “Agh!  What a horrible example to set for the children.”  All I could think was, “How can I get Ben signed up for this?”  It was amazing.  Thanks to Brian Galenzoski and the guys from Fraser Valley Parkour.
