Street shot: The Orpheum and The Vogue theaters.

This is a shot of Granville Street in Vancouver, BC, Canada.  It is one of my favorite streets in any city I’ve been in.  Besides the comic stores and record stores, it also has two of the most amazing theaters: the Vogue and the Orpheum.  Both beautiful and classic.

  2. The Orpheum Theatre use to be a movie house when I was a kid. All of the ornate architecture was there, but was covered in dust, was in disrepair, and was mostly obscured by the low lighting. It was transformed with the renovation and is a marvel today. I saw movies there such as James Garner’s “Support Your Local Sheriff”, Peter Ustinov’s “Hot Millions”, and Clint Eastwoood Spaghetti Westerns. In those days it was 45 minutes flat from downtown Clearbrook to the Orpheum.

    • It’s sad that I’m most amazed at the short time it took to get from Clearbrook to downtown Vancouver.
