The eye is always watching

The eyes are the windows to the soul.

It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven.

I’ve got my eye on you.

An eye for an eye makes the whole world go blind.

Look me straight in the eye.

You never know how you look through the eyes of others.

Um…do you have any to add?

    October 6, 2011 at 3:22 pm

  35. “The Eye is the window to the Soul.”

The eye is often used in holy scripture as a symbol of a person’s ability to receive the light of God. Symbolically, a person’s eye also shows spiritual condition and an understanding of the things of God. For example: “Blessed are your eyes for they see” Matthew 13:16, or “The foolish have eyes and see not” Mark 8:18

YOURS ARE THE SWEETEST EYES I’VE EVER SEEN.

    hee hee

    October 6, 2011 at 3:57 pm

  40. I kept looking at the photo and i had a moment of revelation…the two large circles represent our vacant eyes that are lifeless as we spend too much time thinking of trivial things but the eye in the middle of said large empty circles is the spiritual eye. The one that looks into our own souls and the souls of others, that is the eye that really see’s colour and beauty of within not the dull, grey concrete-ish-ness of the real and tangible.

    October 6, 2011 at 4:11 pm

    • Cool. I had noticed the mimicry of the eye to the large, open circle next to it. That is, in fact, why I took this shot at all. I had thought of them being complimentary, or at least juxtaposed to show the difference. Thanks for the interesting insight.

My favourite because I HATE getting up in the morning, if I am getting up early I better be in a beach house and there better be Dolphin’s frolicking in the waves… frolicking I tell you!….

Oooh oooh also and plus, “she’s got eyes of the bluest skies, as if they thought of rain, I hate to look into those eyes and see an ounce of pain” – Guns’n’Roses

I think Plato had some good ones too, but they slip my memory at the moment.

  89. Why are our eyes called the windows to our souls? Why do we speak of the way that we “see” the world? Why do we say, “I see” in order to communicate that we understand? What is the understanding? What is the relationship between our vision, our eyesight, and our way of Being?

As the rhythm of the world erupts, with the samba sound soothing my soul and bringing the comforting morning light. My rods and cones sense the sun sneaking into my room through the blinds, touching my cheek, bridging my dreams, which will soon fall away from sight. I cannot see the past unless it was in a dream. I am able to look out upon the vision of today. Letting this body breathe in the light and blow out the color.
