WordPress’ Weekly Photo Challenge: Worn (out)

These are my son’s jeans.  They are worn out – in the knees, anyway.  My wife, with her wonderful sensibility, has relegated these jeans to only certain jobs, like washing the car, working or playing in the yard, and (maybe) visiting family on the weekend.  Definitely not church or school functions.

For me, they bring me back to my style of clothing in twelfth grade.  My “uniform” in my grad year was worn-out, torn jeans and offensive t-shirts, somewhat hidden under plaid, flannel shirts.  I looked like a refugee from a Nirvana concert.  Yup, so cool.

Oh, and this week’s photo challenge on WordPress is Worn.  Check it out.

  1. People pay more for the worn look. Funny, at least he listens to mom about when to wear them. I see kids wearing them around all the time.

  3. Must be a boy thing – my Son’s Jeans, school trousers, etc are all like that. Nice shot!

    • Thanks for the nice words.

Yeah, it must be a boy thing, but I think it’s a psychological thing – to me, worn out jeans are fine to wear, wherever – to my wife, there are only certain places that worn out jeans may be worn. It’s all in perspective.

As a mom of four, I have to agree with your wife — my boys have jeans for certain purposes as well and the worn ones are fine for playing football in the fall, things of this sort! Love the shot though — it’s one of the things I immediately thought of when I saw the word “worn”!

    • Thanks for stopping by. I think it’s a guy vs. girl perspective thing.
