People watching is a lovely pastime.

I don’t know what he’s thinking about, but I wish I had taken the time to sit and enjoy my surroundings like he did.  He just sat and watched as people wandered by.  He’s not reading, not listening to an iPod, not texting, not on the phone.  Just sitting.

This photo was taken in Quebec City, adjacent to the Chateau Frontenac.

  1. Yes, that’s exactly what we “teach” our guests to do “relax, sit and listen to the birds and watch the world go by” Most of them take that advice and go home after a few short days feeling wonderful 🙂

    • The trip to Montreal and Quebec City were a whirlwind – three days to see two historic Canadian cities, followed by five days of student leadership conference. I returned to school after a week off needing a holiday.

I, as I processed this photo, felt a deep sense of envy for this this man’s time to sit and relax.

The conference was amazing, but I think I will have recovered some time around Christmas.

  2. You sir, are an amazing photographer. I just spent the last 15 minutes going back through all of your posts. Simply amazing. By the way, thanks for checking out my first post. It is much appreciated.

    • Thank you so much. I’ve been shooting for quite a few years now, and I think I’m finally getting the shots I always saw in my head. Thanks again.

    • So does my wife. I like to create stories about strangers I see.
