You know that “orchid” is the latin term for “testicle”, right? I’m glad they make you happy.

I know that the original Greek word, from which we derive the name “orchid”, means testicle. They named it that because the root of the plant looks like a testicle. They also named structures of the brain things like amygdala and hippocampus because those structures looked like an almond and seahorse, respectively. Those crazy Greeks.
