The reflection is black and white

I picked out a photo that I shot a while ago, but, given the black and white treatment, it takes on a timeless quality.
Well, that’s what I think. What do you think?

Where was this taken?

In Abbotsford, BC, Canada. It’s called Mill Lake, named for the logging company that used to use this lake in their lumber production.
It’s actually kind of gross – certainly not a swimming-friendly lake – but it provides beautiful reflections.

what do you use to convert photos to black and white?

Um…I usually shoot everything in RAW and then change everything in Photoshop CS4. I often change the preview setting in the camera to B&W so that I can see what it’ll look like in b&w while shooting. That gives me a good idea of what I’m going for before it ever leaves the camera.
